"Watching the signs
and getting ready are not the same thing !"
Watching the signs and getting ready are not the same thing !
Jesus replied with this story: "A man prepared a great feast and
sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent
his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’
But they all began making excuses - One said, ‘I have just
bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another
said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try
them out. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife,
so I can’t come.’ Luke 14:16-20
A large crowd was following Jesus. He turned around and said to
them, "If you want to be my disciple, you must hate everyone
else by comparison—your father and mother, wife and children,
brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you
cannot be my disciple. And if you do not carry your own cross
and follow me, you cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:25-27
"But don’t begin until you count the cost." Luke 14:28
"So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything
you own." Luke 14:33
"Flavorless salt is good neither for the soil nor for the manure
pile. It is thrown away. Anyone with ears to hear should listen
and understand!" Luke 14:35
