Remembrance Day and the Shadow of the G20 Meeting in Australia
In two previous letters I have highlighted what I believe is the importance of 11 November 2014: The 11*11 Phenomenon and November 2014 and Gough Whitlam, 11 November and the Jerusalem Hymn (links below). The State funeral for Gough Whitlam, a former Australian Prime Minister, was held on Tuesday 4 November 2014, seven days before 11 November. While 11 November 2014 has passed, in Australia we are very much under the shadow of the G20 meeting being held in Brisbane, Australia on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November 2014. I would like to make just a few brief comments on this.

The Group of 20 Nations Meeting is the HIGHEST PROFILE meeting ever held in Australia. With all the leaders of the major countries of the world in attendance (including the United States, Russia, China, India, France, Germany and the European Union), Australia is temporarily the focus of the world. Although it is presented as a Group of 20 Nations (G20) there are many more countries represented as part of the European Union or as Invited Guests (for example, New Zealand). They will meet together to seek to find ways to solve the economic (the strongest focus), social and climate change issues facing the world. This meeting will also seek further action on the Ebola crisis.
Hot weather in Brisbane: what is somewhat ironic is that on Sunday 16 November 2014, the second (climactic!) day of the G20 meeting is that the Australian Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius - if the mercury climbs up this far this will beat the previous November high temperature for Brisbane by 5 Degrees!!! So while the world is discussing climate change, the Lord sends a perfectly timed very hot day!! Perhaps the G20 meeting should look at what the Creator and the One Who is really in charge of the weather says in Malachi:
(Malachi 4:1) For behold, the day comes that shall burn like an oven, and all the proud and arrogant, yes, and all that do wickedly and are lawless, shall be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch
The Response from the Word
While the leaders of the world should naturally meet together, they are seeking solutions to problems that can only be really addressed by seeking Jesus Christ, the One through Whom all things were created, who is Lord of all, and Who is coming very, very soon!! Psalm 2 shows the mind of the Lord - excerpts below:
(Psalm 2): 1 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?
2 The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say,
3 Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us. 4 He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision. 6 Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.
10 Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the Earth. 11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear.
Isaiah 41 is also poignant - warning the world that His Eternal Purposes will come quickly and as a surprise. Verse 25 contains the only reference to a COMET in the Amplified Bible - see below. The next G20 meeting in 2015 is due to be held in TURKEY - the geographical home of all seven of the Churches in Revelation! Will the Holy Spirit be ministering powerfully to the Churches during this period, and the lead up to it?
25 I have raised up and impelled to action one from the north [Cyrus], and he comes; from the rising of the sun he calls upon My name. He shall tread upon rulers and deputies as upon mortar and as the potter treads clay. [He comes with the SUDDENNESS OF A COMET, but none of the idol oracles of the nations has anticipated it.]
26 [What idol] has declared this from the beginning, that we could know? And beforetime, that we could say that he is [unquestionably] right?
