me add my recommendation of Griffith's CREATURE FORM JEKYLL ISLAND. In
it you will find numerous mentions of s Senator Aldrich.
He
was a career RI senator, both a Rockefeller son in law and facilitator.
HE WAS THE FACILITATOR FOR JEKYLL ISLAND AND SUBSEQUENT EVENTS, PLOTS
AND SCHEMES.
Any
time anyone wants to get a picture of how these Rockefellers and
Vanderbilts and Carnegies lived, tradition has led them to Newport, RI
where their estate rockpiles are clustered like grapes, awaiting the
tourists' genuflections of awe.
They
all miss the Aldrich estate which is no where near Newport. The size of
the land holding alone is mind blowing, encompassing square MILES and
including probably a mile of waterfront. PRICELESS! The structures are
all stone. There are many of them, all of mind boggling size, complexity
and expense. It blows Newport away. One of the major Catholic orders
now owns it ... tax free, of course.
This is the man who facilitated the Federal Reserve. Without him, it wouldn't have happened.
(And
NO, I take no pride or pleasure in this historical scoundrel. I start
gnashing my teeth every time I pass by his former estate.)
