Traditional Rapture Scenario vs Small Group Concept First I want to EMPHATICALLY stress that this NOT an argument for either viewpoint, but rather an explanation of the "Group" concept and the reasons that support the possibility for the Rapture happening in this manner. The Church had it's beginnings with small groups of believers, hiding, huddled together in fear of persecution, in people's homes praying with Faith and much Love for one another. It was a small group that was instructed to go and wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit to anoint them and for them to then "go forth" and spread the Word. The "Key" here is that they were "told" to go and await. This would imply that they had advanced instructions (Warning) that the Holy Spirit was about to come to them at a certain place and that they should go there and wait. This allowed them to prepare themselves mentally and Spiritually for what was about to happen to them. Nothing is mentioned about them having to take food or other supplies, implying that they wouldn't have long to wait for their Blessing of Empowerment to occur. Could this be one of the reasons Jesus says that HIS SHEEP HEAR HIS VOICE? Hearing HIS VOICE does certainly enable the Holy Spirit to Lead you in your walk with Him. Hearing His Voice in your relationship with Him, over time, you would come to TRUST HIM and OBEY what that VOICE told you to do, especially if that VOICE would one day tell you to go to a certain place, at a certain time, to WAIT for HIM because HE was going to come and GET YOU ! That would surely eliminate any SURPRISE wouldn't it. As per example it has happened in the past to a certain group of people, could it happen in like manner again? The answer is YES it could. Will it? We don't know yet, HE hasn't said YET, but if we're objective and not prejudice in our thinking, we would have to admit that the possibility exists that it most certainly could happen again. (Nothing New under the Sun & What has been done will be done again) The example of the disciple Thomas ( the doubter) when finally believing that Jesus was who He said He was, after examining His wounds, was told that "you believe because you see, but I tell you those that believe without "seeing" are TRUELY BLESSED. What could HE mean by "TRUELY BLESSED"? It would have to mean "set apart" from others in their belief. Could HE mean "those that HEAR MY VOICE"? If so, they would then be able to follow any instructions given to them leading to a TRUELY BLESSED event that not all believers would be a part of. Jesus also told certain disciples that they would be doing "Greater Miracles" than HE, HIMSELF had done. I think this Blessing would come from the VOICE of the HOLY SPIRIT that a TRUELY BLESSED BELIEVER would have to HEAR in order to accomplish to the WILL of the FATHER. This Blessed Believer, along with the Holy Spirit, would then become a Convincing Witness to others as to the TRUTH of JESUS CHRIST and be able to relate to them the HOLY SPIRIT'S instructions as to what to do and where to go. (and more importantly Why) This HAS HAPPENED BEFORE! The question is.....Will it happen again? We have SCRIPTURE telling us that it most certainly COULD ! HE has the ANSWER. Let's take it to HIM in prayer and wait on HIS ANSWER......HIS VOICE ! Either way, HE is not going to leave ANY of HIS known "friends" behind no matter the sequence or manner of departure. ALL GLORY TO HIM ! MARANATHA ! TH P.S. We KNOW that the LORD treats the CHURCH as EQUALS with ISRAEL, HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE. If the Jews are going to have 144,000 impervious witnesses, is it reasonable to believe that Church might have an EQUAL counterpart, able to, through the enhancement of the HOLY SPIRIT, convince certain people to ready themselves for an experience they might not have been looking for or expecting? If so, the question then becomes, when, in relation to the RAPTURE would this occur? Before? During? or After?
