"Can Someone PLEASE Explain this?"

There is something about the rapture that boggles my mind.  I can see imprisoned Christians all over this world yearning for the rapture because they know that they will be released from their chains. Chains like the ones that the apostle Paul endured.

For the life of me, I cannot understand Christians who, from the time that they are weaned to the time they FIRST hear of the rapture, ardently, completely yearning for their Savior's  return night and day, in season, out of season, year-after-year, sighing each day, LONGING each day for Jesus to return, watching, looking, peering intently into every sign that comes along, every strange phenomenon in the heavens, in the stars, on the earth, waiting....eagerly anticipating that wondrous arrival...holding their breath with each promise of each day that comes and goes when he MIGHT come, when he COULD come, when he MAY come...never giving up hope, never letting go, clinging to that blessed hope no matter what...waiting for that NEXT anticipated day, knowing that finally, absolutely this could be IT! This could be the day!

Well folks, that person is ME! I know of only a few others like me. I believe that Rody Dominguez is another Christian much like me  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmIwJ-8Alw4  and that there are many DOVES here that are much like me.

We are not in excruciating pain, not in chains, not bound up in prison, not suffering night and day! (Well maybe some arthritic aches & pains!)  We just want to be with our Lord and Savior.  How do we explain this longing, this ardent desire in our hearts to be with our HEART'S DESIRE??? How do we explain this unending, ever-growing, mushrooming, perpetual, ardent watching, waiting, never giving up, never letting go, seeking for our Lord's  return?

Then.......on the other hand. I have relatives who claim to be Christians that really don't give a hoot about when or where or how long before Jesus shows up. They believe he's coming, but they are not particularly interested in 'watching' every sign and holding their breath with every birth pang that comes and goes. I know of hundreds of Christians like them. I can't figure it out--? When I bring it up, their eyes roll. They are content with just knowing that "well, we know he could come any day, but no one knows the day or hour, so we just gotta live each day like it could be today" and the words are so automatic that they don't even sound like they really mean it anymore! And it is like they are saying them to tell you, "don't get excited"  to "just relax, it ain't gonna happen in your lifetime anyway. Go on back to whatever it was you were doing BEFORE you got interested in the rapture!"

How do we explain this? Are there certain Christians that God just puts THIS IN THEIR HEARTS from the moment they are saved? To LOVE HIS APPEARING?  To long to see him return?  Perhaps someone out there could explain this to me. I think I heard one person blog about having "rapturitis". Maybe that's it! If so, it must be in the genes! But I'm the only one in my family (genetically) that is affected. (Ha-ha!) And it has been like this now non-stop for 32 years! Ever since I first heard of the rapture I have read every book I can get my hands on that talks about it and read (and re-read) all the scriptures in the Bible over and over again that speak of the rapture, and I tell everyone I know to be ready, it could happen anytime. I am so used to getting "that look". You know, like "oh no, here it comes again, a speech about the rapture." Perhaps this is why God prompted John Tng to create this site. For us like-minded souls!

I am sure there are other Doves out there who experience this and no one else in their family does. We wonder when we look around at our loved ones. WHY don't they feel like we do? Why are they not as excited as we are? HOW can they be so indifferent to all of  this? How can they not CARE about what is about to happen?  Maybe YOU can shed some light on this, especially if YOU are the same way!
