In thinking about marriage, we all want someone to be "serious" about the relationship.  That involves much thought, care, interest and devotion, not taken lightly.  I think that is what separates the Bride from the rest of the body (virgins) who have not gotten serious and committed in a real way...however, the tribulation will assist in getting their attention and focus!  The Bride is not perfect, but the intent and consequent actions are present, which makes her pleasing and an appropriate helper for the King. Fortunately, qualifying to be "friends" of the Bridegroom is not a bad consolation prize.
