Do I feel this way?  Uh, Yeah (teenager emphasis).  I think this is one experience of being “called out” as a believer.  The more we perceive the things that are “real” the more separated our perception is from the worldly clutter.  So much of what is projected in front of us is a stage show.  Reality is behind the curtain, not unlike the wizard of Oz.  However, true reality is grounded on a spiritual level.  Those who think they are “privileged” and in control are about to be in a bad way.

 

While so many “cannot see the forest for the trees,” we see the oxygen in the forest.  Such is the insight and separation the Lord provides.  What you express is very Pauline;  “I do not, what I wish to do, and do what I ought not.”  Rom 7:19

 

I have had similar thoughts to yours from a young age.  This was long before I had any biblical knowledge.  I believe so much is summed up in two quotes:

 

Solomon in Ephesians, “All things are vanity…”

 

And Jesus, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God…”
