Laurie,
After reading your letter, I was wondering.
I’ve always believed about the Revelation 3:10 promise.
However, I was wondering if “keep thee from the hour of temptation” can only mean the blessed hope.
How was the historic church of Philadelphia kept from the hour of temptation?
They must have faced an hour of temptation, since it was clearly also written to them.
They weren’t raptured away from their hour of temptation.
Neither has any of those of a Philadelphia kind of church, over 19 centuries, been raptured away from their hour of temptation.
So, but for us, is the only interpretation of 3:10 is blessed hope (rapture)?
That’s the only one I was taught & the only one I’ve believed & the only one I’ve wanted to see.
However, can their anyway possibly, be some other way 3:10 can be fulfilled?
What about how the children of Israel that were in Egypt were kept safe while the plagues were coming upon the Egyptians?
Could we be kept, while the world is facing the hour of temptation?
Or is the only possibly way to be “kept from” is physical removal?
