"Christian Tabloid sensationalism"

I ran across this term recently when someone had sent in a critical article against Billy Graham written by Texe Marrs

It seems many of us are gullible to sensationalism and don't check our facts before we spread this sort of information

I remembered some problems with what Texe wrote earlier so I did a little research.
One article was by Constance Cumby who wrote the first Christian book warning about the New Age movement, Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow.

Apparently Texe Marrs copied his material from her without permission, plagiarism, and he would not own up to it.
Constance used a term about those who distort and sensationalize issues to gain an audience

"I had, however, fears from the very beginning that Texe Marrs was turning a serious subject into sensationalism via The National Enquirer type sensationalism"

There is a lot of sensationalism for sure, recently here I recall some one recommending a radio clip that stated that Atlantis existed before Adam and Eve, the same fellows believe we were 'seeded here by aliens'
So much stuff out there mixing Christianity with the New Age and some of us just suck it right up without a second thought.

Not everybody can be an expert so I do appreciate it when some come by and do some correcting, for example the Planet X and Ison type speculations that never pan out.

I and many of us have fallen for these things, we need to be more careful not to jump on the band wagon and check things out first
I am sure some of recall many years ago the "CUTTING EDGE" stories about the Illuminati sending a missile to Jupiter and blowing it up to create a second star, now that was a big on. Of course it never happened.
Those guys are still out there whipping things up.
