RE: CR Booms and The Shack
CR, when I read about the strange boom sounds you heard and read a post
of someone promoting the Shack book, I decided it was time to write
about what happened to me back in Aug (2013).
One of my (Christian) neighbors brought me a book to read saying it was
such a wonderful book written by a Christian man on how “to get more
from God”. She bought three extra books and gave one to me and two of my
other neighbors. She suggested we four Christians get together once a
week for prayer.
This excited me as I have been looking for a “small group” of women
outside internet groups, where we could brain storm scripture, learn and
share in person.
Although I was already skeptical of this book and many books, especially
anything Oprah ever promoted in the past, sure enough in the very first
chapter, which is the premise of the entire book, is the character
“Honi” (to make a long story short), Honi, doesn’t exist, he is a fable
from old Jewish writings, but he demanded rain from God and when he
didn’t get enough, he drew two circles in the sand, stood inside and
demanded God give more rain, didn’t leave the circles until the rains
came… hence the name of the book; The Circle Maker.
Needless to say, I didn’t read the book. Not about to read an entire
book based on a fable, which promotes occult practices (drawing circles
around things or standing in them) and DEMANDING ANYTHING from God…mamma
didn’t raise no dummy!
At the beginning of our third meeting (we had skipped a few weeks to do
scheduling) and immediately after opening prayer, there was a huge, loud
BOOM! So loud, you could physically feel the concussion and it rattled
the back door. Knee- jerk reaction I said “what was that??” The ladies
shrugged and we went on, but every 5 minutes or so, I would keep
hearing/feeling these booms-rumbles (not as strong as the first one).
There were NO thunderstorms-lightning or rain and the really freaky
thing (another reason I didn’t write sooner), NO ONE ELSE heard/felt
these.
I don’t know what it was, but can only guess, someone didn’t want me
there…whether it was a warning from God or Satan…I do not have the
answer, but I haven’t been back.
Don’t know if this helps…but felt like I needed to write this.
