"HOW to PRAY for ISRAEL"

Fellowship Prayer Points - IFCJ - November 21, 2012

  • Please pray for the nearly two dozen Israelis who were injured by an apparent suicide bombing on a bus in Tel Aviv. May they heal quickly and know God's comfort. "Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me" (Psalm 30:2).
  • More than one million Israeli citizens are huddled in bomb shelters. Pray that God will protect and comfort his frightened and battle-weary people. "May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels" (Psalm 122:7).
  • Pray that God will grant Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders wisdom about how best to lead and protect the Holy Land during this trying time. "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his" (Job 12:13).
  • Please pray for the safety and discernment of the Israel Defense Forces soldiers as they prepare for battle to protect Israel and her children. "May those who love you be secure" (Psalm 122:6).
  • Pray for the grieving friends and family of IDF Cpl. Yosef Fartuk, 18, and Eliyan Salem Elnabari, a ministry worker of Bedouin descent, who both were killed yesterday by a rocket fired from Gaza into Israel. "For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones" (Isaiah 49:13b).
  • Ask God to also protect the innocent citizens of the Gaza Strip, who are often used as shields and put in harm's way by Hamas soldiers. "You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked" (Psalm 12:7).
  • Pray that international media outlets will report the real facts about what's happening in and around the Gaza Strip. "A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful" (Proverbs 14:25).
"The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge all godless nations!  As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you" (Obadiah 1:15 NLT).  "I will bless those who bless you (Israel) and curse those who treat you with contempt" (Genesis 12:3 NLT).

Thank you for your prayers!
