Well, Nov. 1st (which just passed) Day of the Dead is a type of memorial to dead loved ones, but even more obvious is Veterans' Day Nov. 11 (celebrated this year Nov.12th) to remember Veterans alive (or could be dead) those who served in peacetime or wartime. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/theorderlyroom/a/memorialday.htm 

Another type of memorial day is Thanksgiving -- the day we remember our blessings and the pilgrim/indian roots of this country.

Maybe this is all a stretch of the imagination, but the mind in dreams usually has at least part aspect that is symbolic in representation.  So ask to hear from God for interpretation.
