"Senate + President +
Treaty Power = Changes to the Bill of Rights"
I have written before on the danger to religious freedom,
practice and assembly as well as other limitations on the power
of the federal government that can occur through the use of the
Treaty power to amend the Constitution circumventing the normal
amendment process involving the States.
In this last election with an increase in the number of Liberal
Senators expect that we will see treaties that will both seek to
cede US Sovereignty to International Organizations and Tribunals
of Unelected technocrats who are not answerable directly to any
electorate. There may be treaties that trim the right of
people to "criticize" another's religion, meaning the end to
telling people why their religions are false. They may be
treaties that through the "universal human (not God given)
rights of all persons" forcing homosexual marriage even on
churches. There may be international treaties that
severely curtail second amendment rights of the "teeth of
liberty." It is extremely important that Conservative
Senators hold their ground to prevent a 2/3rds majority from
making these kind of changes forcing it down our throats in the
dead of night.
