"AFTERTHOUGHTS"
It is shocking,
disappointing and discouraging that the majority of Americans
re-elected a man who spent four years leading our country on a
downward trajectory toward fiscal bankruptcy, deplorable
immorality and blasphemous spirituality. His track record in the
White House demonstrated a willin gness to destroy the sanctity
of marriage, promote the depraved homosexual agenda and turn the
protection of a mother's womb into a tomb for the murder of
precious babies. There is no logical or sensible explanation why
half of America's citizens re-elected this ungodly man.
Could it be that we are witnessing a
pre-cursor of the deluding influence that is prophesied in
Scripture? It is written: "God will send upon them (those who
failed to the love the truth) a deluding influence so that they
will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged
who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness"
(2 Thes. 2:10-12). Clearly we are living in a time when "men
will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,
revilers, dis obedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving,
irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal,
haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of
pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of
godliness...always learning and never able to come to the
knowledge of the truth" (2 Tim 3:2-7).
As spiritually dark as our country has
become, the Body of Christ must continue to be the light that
points people to the only hope we have - the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. Let us
encourage one another as we see the day drawing near (Heb.
10:25)
