Dear John and Doves,

The last time I asked a question, I received several very good answers from this body of believers.  Tonight I have a situation with questions that I cannot answer.  To make a long story short...My elderly mother went to two Polish Mass services this weekend.  At both services the Priest told the congregation that 12-21-2012 was the end of the world. This is a subject that has been discussed in our home throughout the entire year and longer. However, now that the 'Pope' has supposedly confirmed this information, I am at a loss in understanding why now?   What is the underlying deception of shocking an older congregation who blindly follow these authorities.  Is this an isolated 'revelation' to this particular group or is there something brewing behind the scenes? Are they being set up?  Thank you to those who can give me insight as to how this may play out. I read your posts daily, I am a silent partner in this wonderful group of Doves. I would be grateful for any ideas from you all.
