"RE: Nicole: 11.02.12: FiveDoves: Dreams"

Nicole,

“If you are born again, your dreams are from the Lord

That would be really great if that was always true. Sometimes dreams are from the LORD, but sometimes they are simply of ourselves:

Ecclesiastes 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Even since being saved, I have had some very nasty dreams, unclean thoughts that I know the LORD was not putting into my head. Perhaps some of those thoughts came from the enemy, but my old nature is quite capable of imagining things that are very evil, and have found their way into many a dream of mine, since I’ve been saved. We cause a lot of our own dreams:

Jeremiah 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

Filthy dreamers, unfortunately, are not always lost people; similarly, not all that speak evil of dignitaries are lost people either – although the context in Jude is more about unbelievers (line 5)

Jude 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

I really do think that it would have been very pleasant, pure, and clean, if all dreams of saved people were from the LORD. However, I’m pretty sure that not dreams of saved people are from the LORD.

                          Thank you,
