    I too have posed this question more then once to myself and I'm not even a "numbers" kind of person. The direct answer is of course is one thousands divided by 24, equals forty-one point six, six, six...on and on.

1000 / 24 = 41.666 years(or 42 years inclusive reckoning)

   However, perhaps that esoteric comparison in time may not apply in this particular instance(Rev, 17:12). The Greek word seems to indicate an indeterminate amount of time, like "a season" or "period of"  I don't know, but, its always fascinating to ponder the nuance of the "Wonderful Numberer".
 
   I personally was more interested in the passage from Rev. 8:1, where it speaks about the space of "about half an hour" and makes direct reference to the time frame in HEAVEN, which would very likely apply to God's "standard of time", which in this case would be about 21 years...there's a lot of interesting prophetic correlations to the twenty-one year time frame leading up to 2012(I would reference "The Open Scroll" blog and website for more information on that)...and could almost feel a sort of "spiritual" hush for those things that are about to come upon the earth(at least for myself) since the year 1991.
   All of Heaven has their eyes upon US right now, and the Bride's deliverance is probably the most anticipated mystery of all time and  creation....look up everyone, we're almost home!
