I think the symbolism in "The Tide Will Win" could have been better.  But, I too liked the sentiment.  In fact the theme of the poem seemed to perfectly mesh with my earlier post about how so many pastors are quitting the ministry.   

I had quoted that 1,500 per month were leaving their calling according to a survey that was several years old.  I'd hate to see the figures on how many lay people are leaving the churches!

I think that's why my other recent posts were about the missionaries who have risked so much and stayed the course as an example to us all.
 
With the finish line so near, so many seem to be giving up the race.  I hope you read my posts about Robert Morrison and Eric Liddell.  I hope those examples can be an encouragement to some.
 

Let me use a few lines from a famous hymn to conclude...

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand
