Is there a possibility that part of the mystery of Mystery, Babylon, is that she is generational?

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

That she passes on her harlotries to her daughters?

Yet, she doesn't completely pass away as her daughters, granddaughters, rise to the prominence?

Hadn't all the ancient harlotries & sorceries, long ago made its way to Rome?

If Jesus had returned while the apostle John was still alive, wouldn't imperial Rome been a perfect fit for Mystery, Babylon, at that time?

Weren't a number of believers, early in the church age, convinced of that very thing?

Then, didn't the mother, imperial Rome, pass on her ways, her mysteries, her idolatries, etc., to her daughter, the Roman catholic church?

So, that by the time of Martin Luther, weren't many convinced that the Roman catholic church was definitely Mystery, Babylon, at that time?

Yet, didn't imperial Rome somehow continue, even while her daughter became the prominent harlot?

Wasn't the term, pontifex maximus, taken directly from then, and employed by her daughter?

Of course the location or Rome, didn't change, and the daughter continued to rule over kings?

Then didn't the daughter become a mother, and had daughters of her own?

Were these the protestant state churches of Europe?

Though powerful there, did they not transfer much, en masse to the new land across the Atlantic?

To where the new land built by the people of the daughters, eventually became the prominent harlot, herself?

Now with all the ancient ways, manifested in new ways, sorceries and fornication, with the kings of the earth?

Now, instead of taking money from everyone, she makes the merchants of the world rich, as the main consumer of the world's goods?

So, are there any clues to connect her to the generations of harlots?

First, there was something, 20 years ago, that showed her connection to her most ancient grandmother of grandmother.

That was by her military base, Camp Alpha, that was put upon the actual site of ancient Babylon:

Was not the great, great granddaughter brought to that place?

Zechariah 5:7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.

  8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.

  9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

  10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?

  11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.

Didn't that make a direct connection of the current, prominent harlot, with her ancient great, great grandmother, Babylon?

Then, just recently, wasn't there another connection made to her grandmother?

For the first time, the cardinals selected an American cardinal to be pope of the Roman catholic church?

Are these simply coincidences, to be brushed aside by the wave of the hand?

Or are these possibly clues to the identity of the mystery harlot, in her current, prominent manifestation?
