The turmoil and fallout from the tariff war is getting worse for the Chinese people...and the U.S. is about to see a big drop at the stores in Chinese goods and Chinese parts in the supply chains.

 

This article is dated May 1, 2025:

President Trump said that China was "ripping us off like nobody's ever ripped us off.  They're not doing that anymore."

Other countries have met with President Trump and have received a 90-day pause on the tariffs...China has not and has actually raised tariffs on U.S. imports, so "China remains excluded from any such reprieve."

Chinese exports are as low as seen during Covid-19 lockdowns.

 

Today, China's Ministry of Commerce announced that it is assessing renewed communication from the United States about restarting tariff negotiations."

 

China "continues to apply retaliatory tariffs, it remains the only country currently facing active US trade penalties."

The longer Xi refuses to negotiate, the longer the trade conflict will continue and the resulting unrest in China will continue to spread and to escalate.  With shuttered factories and workers laid off; and many workers remain unpaid, China is going to have a lot of catching up to do.  Might as well drop the tariffs or come to a mutually beneficial understanding.

 

I am hopeful that Xi will see that negotiations with the U.S. will benefit China and his people.  And, if the people are happy, he is less likely being dethroned.

 

In the U.S. - we certainly don't need a massive hit on the supply chain again!  Covid's shutdown was very hard on our economy and businesses.  We certainly don't need another hit.  But we can't continue to remain tied to China as our 'factory' - it's a painful wakeup call, but $36 trillion is unsustainable.  Something had to be done.  And China is the only hold out.

 

Maybe this is all brining us to the doorstep of the Tribulation period.  Or maybe it's just another speed bump to get over.  

 

This could backfire and push China into war with the U.S.  This would unite their people and get them all back to work - converting factories to military/warfare support.  The U.S. doesn't have factories to convert for the war effort.  And China knows this and they know how dependent we are for so many things - that was the whole idea - to get the U.S. dependent on them and then they could pull the strings.  President Trump is side stepping that - for the moment.

 

We'll see how these new negotiations go.  President Trump and the whole country has a lot riding on this...It's all in God's hands.

 

This could get very ugly...not just with goods, but leading to a hot war.
