"Things are heating up
hundreds of miles off the coast of Oregon, where a large
undersea volcano is showing signs of impending eruption,
scientists say."
"The volcano known as Axial
Seamount, is located nearly 1 mile underwater on a
geological hot spot, where searing gushes of molten rock
rise form the earth's mantle and into the crust."
Axial Seamount is located on
the Juan de Fuca Ridge - the Pacific plate and the Juan de
Fuca plates "are constantly spreading apart, causing a
steady buildup of pressure beneath the planet's surface."
"The frequency of
earthquakes has recently picked up dramatically as the
volcano inflates with increasingly more magma, signaling an
eruption could be near..."
"At the moment there are a
couple hundred earthquakes a day..." William Wilcock,
a marine geophysicist said he expects it will erupt this
year or early 2026.
They are expecting
some 10,000 small-scale earthquakes in a 24 hour period
when it does erupt. The heart of the
volcano has collapsed many times producing a large caldera.
When it does erupt there
will not be a ash cloud as it's a mile beneath the surface.
Three recent eruptions all
occurred between January and April, "the time of year when
Earth is moving away from the sun." Wilcock said, "I
don't think we fully understand why that is, but it may be
related to the gravitational forces from the moon
influencing the volcano."
Today, 5/14 there were 21
earthquakes in 24 hours; 134 in the past 7 days; 572 in the
past 30 days and 8,766 in the past 365 days.
It will be interesting to
see how these numbers changed over the next days/weeks
...til it erupts.
In reading about this I
wonder if the approaching Black Star, "electromagnetic
anomaly" is adding to this pressure increase. And
if anything else will be triggered on the West coast...
