BACK TO THE DANIEL 12 DRAWING BOARD
Again, to understand Jesus’ and the apostles New Testament prophecies, one must be thoroughly familiar with the Old Testament prophecies that they are referencing and clarifying. Jesus went out of His way to single out Daniel for particular attention in the Olivet Discourse:
[Mat 24:14-16 NASB95] 14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through DANIEL THE PROPHET, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
ABOMINATION TIMELINE
In the Fig-Tree Parable, the time of great tribulation is linked to an abomination that causes desolation:
”When you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel …. then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again” (Matt. 24:15, 22).
The Book of Daniel tells us when the abomination will appear:“From the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that causes desolation set up, there shall be 1,290 days” (Dan. 12:11).
THE KEY TO THE CRYPTOGRAM
688 AD was the year construction began on the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic shrine which has made the Temple Mount desolate ever since. In 689 AD the Dome was standing as per the Scripture. 689 AD with 1335 days (years) (VERSE 12 BELOW) added equals 2024 AD.
After revealing when the abomination will be set up, Daniel tells us how many days (or years) will pass before Israel receives the blessing of redemption at the end of the age:“Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days” (v. 12). THEREFORE – THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH occurs AT DAY (YEAR) 1335 FROM THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION STANDING IN THE HOLY PLACE. This is the reason Jesus emphasized the point!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Scripture says those watching for the Lord’s return will see the Day approaching (Heb. 10:25; 1 Thess. 5:4; Luke 21:28).
