Chance - your excellent post linked below. So well put together! Careful reading of scripture reveals that Jesus IS the Ark of the Covenant. LORD Jesus IS our 'continual and daily sacrifice'. He put an end to all other sacrifice and offering. Lisa Taylor wrote a brilliant post awhile back, detailing how the angels that stood at the head and feet of our LORD's body, resembled the Cherubim that guard the earthly Ark of the Covenant. There's a very good reason why that ancient Ark cannot be found.
I can understand why old-school Bible scholars believe in a 7 year tribulation. Until Israel was born again as a nation in 1948, they spiritualised the name of Israel. Trying to make sense of what prophecy was telling them. The Bible tells us that the Ark of the Covenant (LORD Jesus) currently resides in the heavenly Temple - serving as our continual and daily sacrifice. In Revelation 11:19 the Temple of God (in heaven) is opened and the Ark of the Covenant is seen. The wording strongly suggests that the heavenly Temple will be revealed to human eyes. After all - when Jesus returns "EVERY eye will see Him".
After hours of prayer and study, it remains my belief that Daniel 9:27 has been tragically misunderstood.
