"Israel's Holy Wars and Ours" - that is the title of an article in "Prophecy Watchers" May, 2024 edition.  The author is James De Young.  www.prophecywatchers.com

 

De Young defines a "holy war" as a war with religions fueling the conflict.  A "religious war" is a war which is primarily caused or justified by differences in religion and beliefs."  He wrote that the current war between Hamas and Israel is a "holy war" "since Hamas is convinced by the Islam expressed in the Quran that Israel should be destroyed....there are spiritual embodiments of evil responsible for the present conflict that began over several thousand years ago!  And there are significant implications for Christians.  But the modern implements of war make the current war the most terrifying yet."

 

De Young spent quite a bit of time going through the history of evil beings.  There are good angels and evil angels.  There are the fallen angels.  He believes that the "evil spiritual beings involved in the current conflict were active" at the time of Noah.  The Nephilim "are associated with the wickedness of humanity - both before and after - the Flood."

 

He also wrote about the Nephilim - the "fallen ones" - "giants and fierce warriors" and "they are identified with demons." But are probably "distinct from demons".  Demons "seem to crave human embodiment" and fallen angles "appear in this world as people, eat as people, speak as people."  We are very familiar with Jesus and His disciples 'casting out demons'.

 

The New Testament "refers to an increased presence of demonic activity in the End."  Jesus refers us to the 'time of Noah' and the 'time of Lot' when speaking about the end time signs.  The Nephilim still exist AFTER the flood.

 

De Young reminded us of the story of the twelve spies - how God told the Israelites to go in and conquer the land.  Ten of the spies said that "the people were "strong" and the cities were "fortified and very large" and that the "descendants of Anak were there."  They reported that the people were of great stature.  In Numbers 13:33, the ten spies said, "We even saw the Nephilim there - the descendants of Anak that come from the Nephilim.  We seemed like grasshoppers in our own sight, and we must have seemed the same to them."

 

"Around 1400 BC, Joshua conquered, and killed, most of the Anakim:  those who dwelt in all the mountains of Judah, including those in Hebron, Debir, and Anab.  However, "None of the Anakim were left in the land of children of Israel; they continued only in Gaza, in Gath and in Ashdod.   Note that Gaza is a place where the descendants of the Nephilim or Anakim continued to exist.  These were the descendants of the evil intermarriage of angels and human women."

 

"So implicitly there remained unconquered idolatrous people and descendants of Nephilim...And the worship of idols is associated with the worship of demons.  Thus Israel did not conquer all of Canaan, including the area of Gaza."

 

"So throughout Old Testament history Israel failed to conquer all the evil descendants of the Nephilim and fell into worshiping their idols and demons.  It's appropriate to say that even during subsequent periods - that of the Maccabees between the Testaments and during the New Testament era itself the descendants of the Nephilim continued to exist.  It is in the DNA, the genes of those living in various places, including Gaza."

 

"In Daniel we receive clear support for the fact that fallen angels or demons were behind the nations which oppressed Israel.  The "Prince of Persia" and the "Prince of Greece" are fallen angels or demons behind the Gentile nations in their conquest of Israel.  Michael the archangel is the defender of Israel.  Without a doubt these "princes" are fallen angels under the leadership of Satan.  They sought to lead Gentile powers to destroy the nation of Israel." 

 

"If this were so, then we can extrapolate what Daniel says. All Gentile nations and empires are idolatrous and given to demonic control.  Behind all such nations are evil beings - fallen angels or demons  This would include the six empires that have come and gone (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece and Rome and the one yet to come."

 

Since becoming a nation, Israel has fought several existential wars and in 1967 Israel 'took' Gaza.  After that came the first Palestinian intifada in 1987 - 1993 and then the second Palestinian intifada in 2000 - 2005.  In 2005, Israel removed 9000 Jewish Israelis from Gaza.  And in 2006 Hamas took control of Gaza.  Since then, thousands of rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel.  "Finally, on October 7, 2023, Hamas militants killed 1,400 Israelis and took 199 hostages.  Israel vowed to destroy Hamas in Gaza."

 

"Why has such conflict arisen and in such a barbaric way?  We must acknowledge that the present residents in Gaza represent, in whole or in part, the special descendants of the evil offspring who were born both before the Flood and after it.  They were still there after the conquest of Canaan under Joshua and even later under David.  The failures of Old Testament Israel to conquer Gaza became a precursor, an adumbration, of what has been repeated throughout history including the present."

 

"There are some Christians in Gaza, and recently some Muslims have become Christians on the basis of seeing visions of Christ.  Yet this reality does not detract from what Gaza has come to signify over several thousand years:  the place where special forms of evil distinctive to the land of Israel abound and have not been eradicated."

 

De Young concludes his article with: 

 

First, the present war is a holy war with unparalleled spiritual dimension.  The war represents the ongoing conflict between Satan's forces found in the descendants of the Nephilim and their false gods, and the Jews.  The only adequate explanation for the rise of Islam and its conquest by the sword is that it is demonic.

 

Second, Israel will not eradicate Hamas.  There will always be those who will rise up against Israel.  Israel will not be eradicated by Hamas.

 

Third, the present war reinforces just how near the Rapture of the church is and how the Lord is laying the foundation for Israel's time of Jacob's trouble.

 

Fourth, the unseen spiritual warfare is also for Christians.  It prevails not only in the Old Testament but also in the narrative of Jesus, in the Acts, in the Epistles and the in the Book of Revelation.  The current war demonstrates how strong the unseen spiritual agents of evil are.

 

Fifth, it is certainly within biblical boundaries to propose that certain evil terrorists are embodied evil beings, either fallen angels or demons.

 

"American Christians are somewhat blind to the supernatural struggle in the unseen world.  Evil forces descended from the Nephilim are brandishing there spiritual weapons to destroy Israel - and us.  Angels are battling over control of the USA and every nation of the world."

 

"Israel's present War is simply the latest example of her ongoing conflict with great evil bent on destroying her that began over 3000 years.  Israel's war with evil is an object lesson for all Christians."  He ends with "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places..in the evil day."  Eph 6:12-13.

 

There is much, much more in this article - I just presented some highlights.

 

I will add that Jesus and His disciples went throughout the Galilee casting out demons.  Where did all of those demons go?  They most certainly are still with us.  And the descendants of the Nephilim? - the Nephilim didn't all get wiped out and neither did their descendants - as God wanted.  Their descendants are with us to this day.  So where are they?? De Young presents an interesting case - we know where the Nephilim first were and we can see that their descendants are still there per biblical accounts.

 

We can certainly see the evil angel(s) power over the Obama-Biden administration (and how they are treating Israel and American citizens!), and the evil angel's power over many Americans with the abortions, transgenders, homosexuals, pro-Hamas, anti-Israel/anti-Jew sentiment, and all the violence, all the hate, etc . And the O-B administration/DOJ/FBI aren't even investigating anti-Semitic attacks/harassment on campuses!!!  But the U.S. Dept of Education is investigating anti-Muslim discrimination on campus!!!

This is messed up.  Just shows how far to the dark side our government has gone.  Doom is dead head for America!  There can be nothing less than a Sodom/Gomorrah level of destruction.

 

We certainly do not fight against flesh and blood!  The "supernatural struggle in the unseen world" is indeed real!  Much more real than our reality!
