"So What's Going On In Peru?"

Hello John and Doves,

Well, here's a new face in the news - Peru!  Another mess the Biden administration has gotten it's hands in!

I am seeing so many similarities between Peru and the United States.  It's like a mini U.S.

Peru is under the control of an unelected government, "that is heavily supported by Washington but overwhelmingly rejected by the Peruvian people."  And Peru's Congress "is refusing to call new elections in total defiance of public opinion".  And Peru's Supreme Court has issued a ruling that criminalizes political protest!   And the duly elected, now arrested President Castillo, was impeached - twice!  Castillo had no control of his military, the justice department or Congress.  And Peru's military "has taken firm control."  Amazing coincidences!

And the U.S. appointed a CIA veteran as Peru's U.S. Ambassador.  Why would a formed CIA employee be appointed ambassador to Peru?

"US military will soon be landing in Peru."  To "provide support and assistance to the Special Operations of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces and National Police of Peru.." due to massive protests.  The US military will arrive and be in Peru "....From June 1 to September 30 and from October 1 to December 30, 2023."  The protests started when the "elected President Pedro Castillo was toppled, imprisoned and replaced by his vice-president Dina Boluarte."  The people want new elections.  The release of Castillo.  And a new Constitutional Assembly to replace the current constitution that had been implemented in 1992 by a dictator/in a coup.

Some "140,000 mobilised soldiers unleashed a brutal crackdown that culminated in the deaths of approximately 70 people."

And I found this of interest:  "...the U.S. Navy operates a biosafety-level 3 biomedical research laboratory close to Lima as well as two other (biosafety-level 2) laboratories in Puerto Maldonado."

Is there any place the U.S. military doesn't have a biosafety-level 3 laboratory??

This article is seeing another reason why the U.S. is getting involved in another country's internal affairs - rare earth minerals~  "Peru is home to some of the very same minerals that the US military has identified as strategically important to US national security interesting, including lithium.  It is believed that Peru has the 6th largest deposit in the world of lithium.

Some believe that Peru is governed by Washington.  And that U.S. troops is a violation of national sovereignty.

Well, if the Biden Administration wants to take on Peru, they should first back out of Ukraine.  There isn't enough money for supporting both take overs!

Maranatha!
