"a few strange, yet wonderful things about the LORD"

(There are some things mentioned in the scriptures, that may appear strange, but are really kind of wonderful:)

Exodus 20:24b  in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

(In all places? Yes. How many times did the the LORD record his name on the pages of scriptures? Thousands.
Yet in each of those places, when we read them, he comes and blesses us.)

(What about his presence?)

Exodus 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

(After hearing about that wonderful thing, Moses then asked:)

Exodus 33:18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

(To which the LORD responded:)

Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

(So what does it mean, when the LORD said that he, the LORD, would proclaim the name of the LORD?)

Exodus 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

(The LORD proclaimed, "The LORD, The LORD God".   I'm not sure what that 's all about, but it sure is wonderful! )

(Then when Moses went into the tabernacle, he heard:)

Numbers 7:89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.

(I can barely imagine how excited and amazed, that Moses must have been, the moment that he heard that.)

(Then there is a strange, yet powerful, claim made:)

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

(Then there are these encouraging words:)

II Samuel 14:14b  yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

(Then, before we had ever read this the first time, who would have ever imagined that the LORD would be like this:)

I Kings 19:11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

(Or that the pattern of the temple would be understood by written words, rather than from a drawing?)

I Chronicles 28:19 All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.

(How often do we remember these things about the LORD, and even more so, to say words like this, about the LORD, to the LORD?)

Nehemiah 9:17b  but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

(Or that Job, in the midst of his suffering, would say:)

Job 9:10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

(Or how about what Elihu reminded Job? How often do we think about this?)

Job 35:10b  who giveth songs in the night;
