"some more strange, yet wonderful things about the LORD"

(More things mentioned in the scriptures, that may appear strange, but are really kind of wonderful.
"at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore", and Jesus, at the right hand of the Father, must be the source and definition of those pleasures:)

Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

(Who would have ever thought that it is not his power or zeal that makes one great, but rather his gentleness?)

Psalms 18:35b  and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

(It is good to know, that when our heart is broken, that he comes near - like that song's chorus, "Jesus, a friend of a wounded heart":)

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

(The whole Bible is about Jesus, even the parts that we're tempted to consider boring, or skip reading:)

Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

(Someday, Jesus will show us this, then read to us why we had those tears, how he drew nigh to us, and also how he comforted us:)

Psalms 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

(What the world considers the most dreadful of moments, is actually a precious moment for Jesus, when it is one of his coming home to him:)

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

(Something to meditate on, and pray back to the LORD, when we find ourselves restless on our beds:)

Psalms 127:2b  for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

(We have all been excited hearing preaching on the different names of the LORD, yet as great as those names are, he magnifies his word even above that!)

Psalms 138:2b  for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

(How comforting to know this, when others are saying all kinds of discouraging or hurtful things, about us or to us:)

Psalms 139:17a How precious also are thy thoughts unto me,

(When tempted to worry about tomorrow, and things that may happen, it's good to know that nothing will happen that Jesus didn't already know from the beginning:)

Isaiah 48:3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

(It is good to know that Jesus is not limited like we are, but that his wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is infinite:)

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

(When we pray, Jesus doesn't tell us to leave a message at the beep, or that he'll get back to us when he has a more convenient season:)

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

(Yes, Jesus is not some far-away God, in some far-away galaxy, but he is right at hand:)

Jeremiah 23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

(This may be a good scripture to memorize and meditate on, when others seem to be against us:)

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

(Apparently, I have way too often forgotten this, especially at the times that I really needed to meditate on this:)

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

(How often do we not do this, because we can't fully believe that this is exactly like he says that it will be?)

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

(When Jesus returns, and the surviving remnant of Israel see the holes in his hands, from the crucifixion,
and they realize who he is and what they have done as nation, before they are overwhelmed with grief,
that Jesus still says, "house of my friends", not enemies:)

Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
