Hello John and Doves,
On May 31, 2022, the Earth will
run into "one or more debris streams from Comet
73P." Back in 1995 the comet Schwassmann-Wachmann 3
exploded - the resulting debris is what Earth will pass
through next week. It has broken into over 68 pieces
and continues to break apart in its orbit around the
sun. "The display could be as intense as a meteor
storm (1000 or more meteors per hour) or as weak as
nothing at all. No one knows how much debris is
inside the approaching streams, so meteor rates are hard
to estimate."
It looks like that North
America will be in new moon darkness when the shower
peaks. (The Hebrew month of Sivan starts with
the new moon on May 31. On May 31 the New Moon will
be 0.93 days old - 1% illumination.) Those living
in the Eastern Daylight Time zone on Tuesday morning,
May 31st, can expect the 'maximum activity' about 1
AM. That will be 11 PM Mountain Daylight Time the
night of May 30th. "The shower's radiant
will be almost straight above Baja California.
So they are reporting that this
meteor shower could be a dud OR it "could dazzle with
thousands of shooting stars Monday night." "There is
"a small chance of something extraordinary - perhaps one
of the most dramatic meteor displays since the spectacular
Leonid meteor showers of more than 20 years ago..."
I don't know if meteor showers
are part of "signs and wonders" in the sky - unless there
are an exceptional number of meteors - with this shower we
might see something "dazzling" or a dud.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Maranatha!
