How did they supposedly empty it? I heard a newscaster say that it would takes weeks. after the ransom, to pump from to Texas to New England. They said that people would therefore have to wait weeks to get fuel again, after the they paid the ransom. But, if the pipeline stopped because of the ransomware assault, would it not have stopped like it was? If so, then if the pipeline remained essentially full, while the software stopped operations, then wouldn't start flowing again, after the ransom was paid? Unless they manually drained out the pipeline, at various points between Texas and New England, wouldn't it have remained pretty much like it was, full of whatever they had been pumping through it? If so, then wouldn't fuel soon start coming back out the destination points, not long after they started pumping again?
