THE WAR OF PSALM 83 MAY BE AFOOT
Are we now witnessing the Psalm 83 war in Israel?
The weakness of Biden's America, supposedly the defender of modern Israel is evident. A change in attitude toward Israel came with the change of the government after January 20, 2021. The Trump Administration was very favorable to Israel, the Biden Administration is not so inclined. Just as prophesied, the little nation is left all by itself in this time of trouble. Attacked on three sides by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, by Hezbollah in Lebanon, and by Iran using Syria as its proxy. Hundreds of missiles have been launched at God's chosen people in the past few days .
Remember that God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham, repeated it through David and sealed it by the blood offering of His only Son, Jesus. While modern Israel remains in unbelief, nevertheless, God's promises never fail. And Israel will someday be in God's favor again (Romans 11). For today, however, read Psalm 83.
“Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God”. Thus began the Psalm of Asaph, one of God's prophets of ancient times. “For lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head”.
This accurately describes the Arab enemies of Israel today. The Psalmist says that they have taken crafty counsel in order to cut Israel off from the land of the living. A list which includes the tribes of the Palestinians (Philistines), Moab (Jordan), Tyre, (Lebanon), and Assur. These have joined forces and are firing missiles into the pleasant land.
But these Israelis are smart warriors. On May 14th, their 73rd anniversay as modern Israel, they marshalled forces on the border of the Gaza Strip with the appearance of invading the Strip. Instead, the Israeli Defense Force sent 160 planes, dropping 450 bombs representing 80 tons of explosives in a 35 minute attack on the tunnel structure of Gaza where Hamas fighters, thinking there was to be a ground invasion, fled to the tunnels for protection. Israel bombed the tunnels collapsing these same tunnels on the heads of the Hamas fighters.
Asaph asked God in Psalm 83 to “Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. O my God, make them like a wheel; as stubble before the wind” (just blow them away).
God Almighty is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (whose name was changed to Israel). He was and He is, and He will always be their God. That is what the meaning of an everlasting and eternal covenant is. Theirs is the Kingdom Age to come soon, a kingdom under Christ for a thousand years.
“THAT MEN MAY KNOW THAT THOU, WHOSE NAME ALONE IS JEHOVAH, ART THE MOST HIGH OVER ALL THE EARTH”.
I believe that America will regret its abandonment of Israel in a short time to come.
