Three Sundays in May 2021

Australia, Israel and the Church

We are in critical days, expectantly waiting for the unveiling of God's Eternal Purposes on Earth - for Israel (the Fig tree), nations (all the other trees) and the Church (the remnant Bride and the broader Body of Christ).  I wanted to highlight three key dates (Sundays) in May 2021.

Australia (9 May and Sunday in 2021)

On 9 May 2021 Australia will celebrate 120 years since the opening of the first Australian Parliament in Melbourne in 1901.  Australia had become a nation on 1 January 1901.  It was a far more Judeo-Christian nation than it is now.  We are blessed, however, with a Christian Prime Minister!!  120 years (3*40) marks the completion of three cycles of 40 - perhaps a prophetically important year.

·         Australia's two Parliament Houses in Canberra were also opened on 9 May:  1927 (94 years) and 1988 (33 years).

Israel's first day as a nation was 15 May 1948.  Israel celebrates Independence on their Judaism date (14 and 15 April in 2021).  On our Gregorian calendar this year, 15 May is on Saturday (15 May 2021), the 73rd Anniversary of Independence.  There are two interesting aspects of this.  First, seven more years is the 80th Anniversary.  Secondly, 180 (exclusive) prophetic days (half a time) takes you to 11 November 2021.  I have often been drawn to the importance of 11.11 as a new beginning.  This year will be 103 years since the Armistice in 1918.  Another 7 years would be 110 years - could this indicate the coming of the Prince of Peace?

For the Jews, Sunday 16 May 2021 marks the start of the two days of Shavuot.  The key remembrance for Shavuot is the giving of the Torah!  Bob Ware noted other events marked on 6 Sivan (17th May and the first full day of Shavuot this year): birth and rapture of Enoch and death of King David at 70 years.  This is very much a date to watch.

For Christians, the Day of Pentecost on Sunday 23 May 2021 is a very important date.  While we expectantly wait for the Rapture, the last days (and quick) revival (Joel's outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh) may be marked in some way by the Day of Pentecost on 23 May 2021.
