Do we believe that:

 "The heart is deceitful above all things, 

and desperately wicked;

who can know it ?"

Jeremiah 17:9

Not really. Most people believe that we are basically good people, and that by nature we will automatically choose the good every time.

Politicians and world leaders know this about us, and have successfully deceived the masses through out history by this false assumption.

In that one sentence from Jeremah 17:9 alone,

God reveals to us the Essence of man.

Adam and Eve proved it

true through personal experience.

And consequent generations verified it down through the ages.

It is an absolute, verifiable fact that we are prone to love Self over 

"the common good", 

when veneers are lifted off.

Ask yourself, who tempted Lucifer in heaven, after having achieved the highest esteem possible?

Ezekiel 28: 11-19

Him-SELF  tempted him, through pride and ego

(personal attributes).

Ask again, who tempts those living during the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ, while Satan is locked up in the bottomless pit?

Again, SELF will tempt themselves through pride, ego, self, prestige and all the attributes that adhere to those main vices.

Does God tempt anyone?

"Let no man say when he is tempted, 

'I am tempted of God':

For God cannot be tempted with evil, 

neither tempted He any man".  James 1:13

Since we are not inherently good, then--in essence--  there is no such a thing as 

"the common good". 

There is only the common "nice", pleasing others to enhance yourself.

(Think virtual signaling).

*Only* God is good.

This is a fundamental, essential concept, basic to all self-examination.

The False Prophet will woo people toward worshipping this usurper of Almighty God, as they both strive for global unity. A Global government.  

A Global religion.

Yet, since man is not inherently good, the most we can obtain in our lifetime is the righteousness of Jesus Christ, through Grace, obtained for us at Calvary. There is no other way.

" I am the Way, 

the Truth and the Life.

No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me".

John 14:6.

Our relationship with God consists in cooperating with the Grace of Jesus, given to us by the Holy Ghost.

That is why we will all, in eternity, cast our crowns at His feet, in true recognition and humility

of His love for us.

The Bride of Christ will then be  "arrayed in fine linen, clean and white:

For the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."

"The Spirit and the bride say, "Come !".
