As the tabernacle was
to be made after the pattern of that which is heaven,
Hebrews
12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city
of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an
innumerable company of angels,
Revelation
14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s
name written in their foreheads.
Jesus isn't coming back to stand on mount Zion
on earth, in the middle of the tribulation, before his
second advent?
Isn't Revelation 14:1 referring to the mount
Zion in heaven?
On earth there is a Salem and a Zion, is it not
also true in heaven?
Revelation 3:12c and the name of
the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem,
which cometh down out of heaven from my God:
Psalms
76:2 In Salem
also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
If so, then Melchizedek wouldn't have been an
heathen Jebusite king, but rather a priest of God from the
heavenly Salem?
Genesis
14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem
brought forth bread and wine: and he was
the priest of the most high God.
Hebrews
7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem,
priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning
from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being
by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that
also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
If so, then it would make more sense about what
he did and what Abraham did.
It would also make the following easier to
understand:
Hebrews 7:3 Without father, without
mother, without descent, having neither beginning of
days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of
God; abideth a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this
man was, unto whom even the patriarch
Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
15 And it is yet far more
evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec
there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the
law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an
endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec.
If Melchisedec was without father or mother,
then he wasn't Canaanite, or Jebusite, was he?
If he had no end of life, but if he was from
the earthly Jebusite city,
wouldn't
he still have been alive and been king when the Jebusites
attacked Gibeon?
Joshua 10:5
Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of
Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth,
the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered
themselves together, and went up, they and all their
hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war
against it.
Or after the battle with Joshua, hiding in
the cave?
Joshua 10:17
And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are
found hid in a cave at Makkedah.
Or when the Jebusites mocked David to come
and take the city?
II Samuel 5:6 And
the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the
Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake
unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind
and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking,
David cannot come in hither.
7
Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the
same is the city of David.
