"Is there any connection?"

Is there any connection?
connection between:

Deuteronomy 28:50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

and:

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Do the curses in Deuteronomy 28 only apply up to the Babylonian captivity, and that is all?
Or does any of that chapter possibly also describe the Roman destruction of Jerusalem?
Does any of that chapter possibly also describe the Holocaust?
Does any of that chapter possibly also describe the tribulation?
If so, then, since "fierce countenance" is only mentioned twice, could there be any connection?
