Pentecost/Shavuot/Feast of Weeks is next on the list of up-coming High Holy Days.
On the chabad.org calendar it starts sunset 5 Sivan (May 28) to sunset 6 Sivan (May 29); Omer: Day 50. The month of Sivan began sunset May 23. The third month of the Biblical calendar.
For Christians, Pentecost will be celebrated on Sunday, May 31. The seventh Sunday after Easter Sunday.
This is 8 Sivan on the Hebrew calendar. Strong's Hebrew for 83 (eighth day of the third month) : אֵ֫בֶר (eber)
This is found in verses:
Psalms 55:6 "Oh that I had wings of a dove!"
Isaiah 40:31 "They shall mount up with wings as eagles"
These High Holy Days or Feast Days are God's days - appointed times for prophetic events. The Hebrew word for Feast is "moedim". In Strong's Hebrew "moed" #4150 means "appointed time, place or meeting"
Leviticus 23: "These are my appointed times, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as holy convocations - My appointed times are these."
Something prophetic occurs on each of these appointed times.
On Pentecost, the priest waves the bread (with leaven) of the firstfruits for a wave offering...."And on the firstfuits when you bring a new grain offering to Yahweh at your Feast of Weeks..." Numbers 28"26
Jesus was the firstfruits resurrected from the dead, just as Christians that have died will be firstfruits - changed with the living Christians to immortal bodies in the twinkling of an eye - each "firstfruit" resurrection is in a designated order at an 'appointed time'.
