I Remember....![]()
That was 1938. Black seemed to be “the” color that year.No flashy, shiny Fords...all painted black too. All photos and movies were in black and white, and the Nazis had their “black shirts” parading in Berlin. And black storms lay ahead, as WWII approached and Pearl Harbor would soon be engulfed in black smoke as Japanese planes unexpectedly arrived one Sunday morning three years later. But that was a long time ago.Seldom do we forget that GOD remembers. In fact, He wants us to remember.I had a dream a few days ago. I saw myself talking to Netanyahu (the Israel Prime Minister). Suddenly, he asked me tostep outside—he wanted to show me something. As we did, there parked in front of us was a beautiful, brand new car. It was white in color, with awesome features. In fact, many people had gathered around just to view it. Kind of like a limo... A real showpiece! We got inside, still conversing, when he suddenly asked me a question: What am I to do?Though the subject had not come up, I sensed he meant the many threats facing Israel, and the terrorism surroundingit. Suddenly, this came into my mind, and I said to him:“Read the Bible. We have all the advice we need from the scriptures. They tell us that whatever is happening now, has also happened before---and how they overcame things then is the same for us today and also for tomorrow.”Looking at the picture of my father’s old car at the beginning of this article....it was black. Had to be cranked to start it—hebroke his arm doing that one time. Certainly had no air-conditioning, and I don’t remember it having a heater or glass windows. No beauty of any kind nowadays...just an antique. Yet in those days of my youth, it was a real treasure!! We now didn’t have to ride a buggy pulled by a horse. We had no mental picture that it would be obsolete as the newer models came evolved. We just were thinking of what it meant THAT day.But that car Netanyahu showed me...it was white. A luxurious white...something very special for an important man.I believe God is trying to say something here: that all of us must be looking at that precious, beautiful, and powerful WORD of God. Not at dark, black forces which discourage and ultimately defeat us, but ahead at what is in store and awaits its fufillment in our very lifetimes, NOW! THIS DAY!~~~~~Yes, the scriptures have been plowed over many times for thousands of years, but every word still feeds and produces from every seed sown in its rich soil--- our only hope, and which remains as the only answer for any of us.MARY E ADAMSGod wants us to remember...Him.
