"Night Watches 1-4 of the True Shavuot (Pentecost) Eve in 2017"

In 2017, there are 3 major calendars with 3 different dates for Shavuot (Pentecost) Eve.   The first will be on 5-30 according to the Hillel Calendar. Next will be 6-1 on the Torah Calendar. The third will be 6-3 on the Christian Calendar. Which calendar did the Messiah of Israel, Christ the Lord, follow in his lifetime? There are 2 very helpful and informative articles worth reading by Todd D. Bennett. One is titled "When Do We Celebrate Shavuot" in the articles section at www.shemayisrael.net and the other is titled "How Yahushua Messiah Counts the Omer" at www.TorahCalendar.com/ in the resources section. Which seems to be the correct one according to the Messiah? This year a convincing case is made  for 6-1 as Shavuot (Pentecost) Eve.

The following remarks are revised from my post of 6-1-2014 in five doves archives about the Shavuot Eve 4 Night Watches. The Romans held to Watches of the Night, from 6 to 9, 9 to midnight, midnight to 3, and 3 to 6. There is an important tradition in Judaism concerning Shavuot Eve, the night when Shavuot begins at sundown according to the Hillel Calendar. Some try to REMAIN AWAKE ALL NIGHT, reading from the Torah and praying.  These 12 hours of a night watch comprise the ONLY NIGHT ANNUALLY FOR ISRAEL to remain awake for spiritual reasons through the experience of living through all the 4 night watches. This is not commanded in the Torah, rather it is a tradition of men. What are other nights of watching according to The Scriptures? These are the original First Passover (beginning Nisan 15), the commanded subsequent First Passover (beginning Nisan 14), and the Second Passover (beginning Iyar 14). These could be special nights to stay awake until the conclusion of Night Watches 1 and 2, from 6 to 9 and then 9 to midnight.

For Israel on the Hillel Calendar the NIGHT TO REMAIN AWAKE will be 5-30 to 31 in 2017. What did the Messiah teach for His bride/body/family to be doing just before He arrives? Prepare. Repent. Wear undefiled garments called "clean white linen" and WATCH. Be sober not drunk or dissipated. Do not be overwhelmed by sleepiness and "the cares of life."

"Summer is near. Even at the gates."

Long ago, Shavuot at Mt. Sinai was the 3rd day of preparations complete when all of the Exodus people from Egypt of the House of Israel plus "the mixed multitude" were to have repented, cleansed their bodies, and washed their clothes. Preparations complete. All ready for what? For divine wedding and marriage. The 10 Commandments were The 10 Wedding Vows. As before, so again? For divine wedding and marriage for the few on the narrow path of and to the Messiah? Be repentant, obedient, pure, undefiled, sober and watching during the Night Watches from 6 to 9, 9 to midnight, midnight to 3, and 3 to 6 on Shavuot (Pentecost) Eve? FEW WILL BE WATCHING FOR THE MESSIAH, The Groom of the Ages, any of the 3 nights. A calm period with expectations of living normally? Life going on as it always has. The mind set. Of almost all people in the days of Noah or the days of Lot. In His parable, the herald (the best man) announced the coming of the bridegroom nearing the midnight hour for Israel. Is there transformation ahead the night of 6-1 to 2? At the midnight hour for Israel? Will it be wisdom to heed the Night Watches in Israel time that night? WATCHING and prepared to be spirited away by the Beloved? The Son of Man has promised to appear for His own "at an hour you think not." A special Shavuot (Pentecost) Eve to be awake, sober, prepared, and WATCHING? The Messiah will surprise so very many when His promised hour is come!

With Love and Shalom,
Jean
