70 YEARS OF REJECTION

1.         The theme of Israel's national rejection of the three types of Messiah, Joseph, Moses and David is         SEVENTY YEARS.  (See Note A)

2.         The theme of the SEVENTY YEARS  Hebrew Year 5707 (1947-48) until Hebrew Year 5777             (2017) is SEVENTY YEARS of Indignation.  (Zechariah 1:12) (See Article:             https://rapture2017.info/2017/04/22/six-blood-moons-apocalypse-israel-2017/

3.         The theme is of this Year 2017 is SEVENTY YEARS.  (See Note B)

4.         The theme of Daniel's 70th week (Daniel 9:27) is SEVENTY YEARS.  (See Note C)

5.         The theme of Jesus' Fig Tree Parable (Matthew 24:32) is SEVENTY YEARS.  (See Note D)

6.         The theme of remnant Israel's salvation (Isaiah 10:22; Romans 9:27) is SEVENTY YEARS.             (Matt. 18:22)  (See Note E)

7.         The theme of our generation's age is SEVENTY YEARS, 80 if by strength. (Psalm 90:10) See Note D)

8.         Job, a figure of Israel, was SEVENTY YEARS of age when his tribulation commenced and the Book of Job's 42 chapters figuratively speak to Israel's great Tribulation in during the last 42 months.

9.         David, a figure of Messiah ben David, Israel's warrior king, died at the age of SEVENTY YEARS and "served his generation". (Acts 13:36; 1 Kings 2:11; 2 Samuel 5:4)  (See Note F)

Notes:

A.        Israel rejected Joseph for 20 years.  From the time Joseph's brothers rejected and sent him away             (Genesis 37:8) until they were reunited in Egypt was about 20 years.  Moses was rejected for 40             years from the time of Exodus 2:14 until he was received back.  David was rejected as Israel's King (1 Samuel 8:18) until Israel received him.   20+40+10=70 years.   Israel, since its formation             SEVENTY YEARS ago, continues to REJECT its Messiah Yeshua Jesus.  It seems plausible that this pattern of a 70 year rejection should conclude the matter and bring in Daniel's 70th week.

B.        I do not know which calendar God uses for His Appointed Times and Seasons.  Israel has two popularly accepted calendars, a liturgical calendar which begins in the Spring associated with the Exodus from Egypt. (Exodus 12:2)  and a civil calendar which commences late Summer early Fall with Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah.  Rosh Hashanah (head of the year) was adopted by the Jewish leadership following second Temple destruction.  They believe Rosh Hashanah begins a ten-day trial of humanity climaxing on the Day of Atonement. (Source of Rosh Hashanah information http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Holidays/Calendar/calendar.html)

God would probably use a Gentile calendar and an Hebrew calendar together under His prophetic pattern of duality.  From a Gentile perspective, I like 2017 because the 17th year of the Third Millennium since Jesus' birth may speak to resurrection and deliverance.  Noah's ark was lifted on the 17th of Heshvan.  The ark rested on the 17th of Nisan.  Jesus was resurrected on the 17th of Nisan.  The second order of the resurrection of righteousness, a Feast of Pentecost event, could occur in the 17th year of the Third Millennium.  This idea is consistent with what Hosea said, speaking of his Jewish brothers saying, that God would revive [Israel] after two days (2,000 years Psalm 90:4) and in the third day (third Millennial) he would raise up [Israel] and they would live in His sight. (Hosea 6:2]  I see a pattern.

C.         Daniel 9:24, a prophecy which was uttered in or about 538 B.C. two years prior to the end of the 70-year Babylonian exile was a 70 weeks of years prophecy.  The theme of the Babylonian exile and the subsequent 70 weeks prophecy share this 70-year theme.

D.        Jesus' Fig Tree Parable speaks to a generation.  Many have speculated about the number of years comprising this generation.  Since it is an "end of days" prophecy, we should take Him at His word literally.  Today, our generation is 70 years, 80 if by strength. (Psalm 90:10)

E.         In Matthew 18:21-22 Peter questioned Jesus about the numeric association of the number seven and forgiveness.  Peter asks Jesus if forgiving his brother seven times is adequate.  Jesus makes a surprising connection between forgiveness and Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy suggesting that God will forgive remnant Israel in the context of Daniel's 70th week.

F.         It seems reasonable to associated the Second Advent of Messiah Jesus with the age of King David when he was gathered to his fathers.  David died at the age of 70 years. In 2 Samuel 5:4 we learn that David was 30 years old when he began to reign. In 1 Kings 2:11 we learn that David reigned over Israel 40 years, 7 in Hebron and 33 in Jerusalem.  In Acts 13:36, we learn that "David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, died.  David's generation was 70 years.  David's greater Son, Jesus is associated with a 70 year old generation.  Jesus is the "offspring of David". (Revelation 22:16)
