The Mountain Top - An Intense Spiritual Experience as in The Transfiguration of Jesus.
The flesh wants to take control over the spirit to continue the experience.
Do we notice ? or just continue in our own ability with our best efforts - quenching The Spirit.
Do we sense the work of the flesh and recognize it's fruit ?
Is there love-joy-peace-patience-goodness-kindness-humility and faith ?  Or
Impatience - irritation-pride-anger, no peace-no joy- no faith and No Love ?
God withdraws and waits for us to miss His presense, peace, power and Love.
When we finally see and smell the effects of our own fruit (works) we wake up to the fact He is not the one we have been walking with.
We have been led astray by our own thoughts and imaginations or deceived by the enemy to believe that we can finish in the flesh the work that God began in the Spirit.
We have taken our gaze off our first love to pursue another.
The closer  we walk with The Lord the more obvious this becomes and the less likely we are to stray the next time.
We must constantly be aware of what kind of fruit our lives produce - if it is not the fruit of The Spirit , that God requires, but our own righteousness - The watching World says - Hypocrites !
