President Obama gave a speech in Hanover, Germany during the last week of April saying:

"Perhaps you [EU ] need an outsider
 [most likely a US political person of reknown ]

to remind you of the magnitude of what you have achieved from the ruins of the second world war. "

Now, if you want an authentic voice of recall, you would greatly benefit by having a political person who was alive at that time in the 1940s. That person would have great influence just by being in his 90s.

Let's see who this outsider person fills that resume.
