"DON'T GET 'CAUGHT LOOKING'"

Professional Baseball season in the US has started or will start soon.

There is a phrase that announcers use when a batter is at the plate. Note that if the pitcher throws 4 balls (not in the strike zone) the batter gets a free pass /walk to first base.

On the other hand, if the pitcher throws three Strikes which are 'over the plate and in the hitting area'.......then the batter is called 'out' on strikes..........the umpire will say eg, ''strike three/ you're OUT''.

There is a phrase used when the batter ''takes'' strike three. The batter is said to have been ''caught looking''. It means he was expecting the pitch to be Out of the strike zone.

Many Doves are right now ''looking'' to the Fall and the Feasts associated with that period.

I would just suggest that nobody gets ''caught looking'' and ''takes strikes 3''.............not be Ready.

This post by Lori K on the Wedding Dream says it all:

I would only add, ''He is NEAR, Even at the DOOR".............don't get ''caught looking''.

{Pentecost is Sunday May 24th, starting on May 23rd at nightfall}.

If my memory serves me correct, I believe it was a tradition for the Jews to stay up all night, the night of Pentecost, waiting for the Groom.

For the last several weeks, strangely, my dog Oreo has insisted on staying outside our house in the backyard on a hill seemingly ''on watch''. As soon as daylight breaks..........exactly.........he comes to the back door to come in.
