"FEASTS TREND"
Notice the trend of what happens on each of the 3 main Feasts.
Israel 'went down' to Egypt and became in Bondage.
Israel '' came out'' of Egypt.......out of Bondage. Exodus says it was
on the ''self-same'' day they came out as when they went in.........On
Nissan 15. The Passover Lamb was killed on Nisan 14, as was Jesus, and
the lamb was eaten the night of Nisan 15....with the departure starting
that night of the 15th as the death angel started the plague.
So Passover ''started'' with going down to slavery, and the next
fulfillment was when they 'came out of bondage'. Note the name Passover
was not yet applied when they went down to Egypt.
Then, after leaving Egypt in Nisan, Israel went to Mt. Sinai, entered
the Law Covenant, which Paul says in Galatians led to Bondage. 3000
souls were killed at that time.
In the Sequence of events, Israel left Mt. Sinai, and in the Fall when
the time of Pomegranates were ripe they rejected the entrance into the
Promised Land. So for the next 40 years they were 'in bondage' to the
desert lands. We know this occurred in the Fall. Did it occur at
Tabernacles?
It very well could have, for in one of the instructions for
teaching the young concerning Tabernacles, it says, 'the reason we dwell
in temporary booths at Tabernacles is to teach that they had to dwell
in tabernacles during the desert for dis-obedience''. Thus the pattern
continues. The 'first' observance of Tabernacles resulted in Israel
going into the bondage of 'desert wandering'.
Next in sequence we go back to Passover. Thus far we have seen the first 2 events.
1) Going into bondage on Passover
2) Coming out of bondage on Passover.
The next and final fulfillment of Passover involves the theme of
Glorification. You say, but I thought it was crucifixion. It was. But
Jesus says ''the Hour of my Glory'' has come.
Thus :
3) Passover ends with Glorification.
That same year, of the cross, came Pentecost. If the suggested sequence
is correct we would expect to see the theme of ''Freedom''. And that is
exactly what we see at Pentecost in Acts 2. The Holy Spirit came which
brought Freedom. 3000 souls were born again. Paul said that Sinai
engenders to Bondage and Pentecost of Acts 2/ The Holy Spirit/ engenders
to Freedom.....adding 'where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
Freedom''.
So for Pentecost we have thus far the same 2 fulfillments in sequence as we saw for Passover:
1) Pentecost starts off with 'going into bondage' of the Law at Sinai.
2) The second major fulfillment involves coming out of bondage to the law, at Pentecost in Acts 2.
That, in my opinion, brings us to where we are right now on God's timeline!
The next fulfillment will involve the 3rd fulfillment of Pentecost,
which will mean Glorification. If the waving of the barley loaf pictures
the resurrection and glorification of Jesus.........being waved
upward........then the waving of the 2 loaves at Pentecost must
represent the resurrection and ascension/translation of Believers on
Pentecost..........as the 2 loaves are likewise waived in the air!
Thus, the 3rd fulfillment of Pentecost will be Glorification, completing the same pattern as that of Passover:
1) Bondage
2) Coming out of Bondage....Freedom
3) Glorification.
I can only surmise....extrapolate what the next 2 fulfillments of Tabernacles will be.
Israel did go into the bondage of wandering in the wilderness, as this
is given in the OT text as ''the reason'' to tell the young ones ''why''
they dwell in Temporary Booths.
Israel must yet Come out of Bondage..........step 2. This may come at
the End of the 6000 years, when Israel's enemies are totally defeated
and all Jews and Israelites return to the land of Israel. Notice that in
Zech. 14:16 and the following verses that Israel is no longer at war,
but is at Peace, and the Feast of Tabernacles is Specifically mentioned!
We know Israel will be brought out bondage to be the example nation
during the Millennium in order to bring the other nations to salvation.
The 3rd fulfillment for Israel, after step 2 when they will be the chief
nation on earth during the millennium, will be their Glorification.
Jesus alluded to this in John chapter 7, when he said on that
'great day of the Feast' of Tabernacles ...........''let all who thirst
come to me and drink of the waters of life freely''.............same
words used in Revelation at end of book.
Now we look at the purposes for the above sequences. Jesus was glorified
in order to be the High Priest in order to ''bring many sons to
Glory''.
Will the Church be Glorified on Pentecost in order to ''bring'' in the
rest of the Harvest...........in glorified bodies even while here on the
earth? (With access to heaven. But not subject to the tribulation going
on around them.....notice the 'seal' put on the foreheads of some in
Revelation so they will not be ''hurt'' of the plagues! This would seem
to indicate they are in glorified bodies/ sealed/ but still on the
earth.)
If the above is true, then the Next major fulfillment is
Pentecost, with steps 1 and 2 of Pentecost already fulfilled, and step 3
remaining.......that of Glorification>!?
