Thanks Fay. This may well be the most important program ever produced by Gary Stearman.

His
guest, Stan Deyo, slightly after the 11 minute mark, presents the
theory of light NOT being a constant, of it, in fact, decreasing
exponentially over the past 6000 years. He refers to the work of Barry
Setterfield, former NASA physicist among other things, who hypothesizes
and builds the case for exactly this.
Way
back when, in 1991 specifically, I wandered in off the street to a
small Baptist church. I was newly saved, newly born again, and
wondering, "Now what?". Some weird things happened. One of them was that
I ended up as the Bible Class instructor after only two weeks of
attendance. WWWWWWHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT??????????????
The
condensed story is this. The current instructor was a seminary student.
He brought in a Bible reading that evidently posed some problems to he
and his classmates. He challenged us to exposit it. Around the table the
responses came: all started with "I think" or "It seems to me", with
the occasional "I don't know". Finally my turn came. I opened my mouth,
not knowing what was going to come out. All I remember were the sight of
a dozen pairs of eyes staring and a dozen mouths hanging open. The next
week I was the Bible Class instructor. (The former instructor left in a
snit because he was not elected an elder.)
I
decided to concentrate on prophecy. It was not a popular subject. Right
from the gitgo I realized that light speed was THE huge factor in
Biblical chronology. My first class was speculative, a "what if"
exercise. What if the speed of light was very much faster then than now?
I
"discovered" Barry Setterfield quite a few years ago. I have, upon
occasion, sent missives on his theory. Like all detractors from
consensus, he is not a popular figure. Hence, I was glad to hear Mr.
Deyo refer to him.
Mr. Deyo has undertaken a
huge and controversial task. Don't expect the mainline to receive him.
The mainline can't even agree on the earth being divided at the time of
Peleg.
I've seen the EXPANDING EARTH theory a
few times before. I do take it with salt; I even take decreasing light
speed with salt. These are all hypotheticals. Nevertheless, they are
very satisfying, and presenting them to the gap theory consensus is the
fastest way I know to reduce them to muttering and head scratching.
