Terrorism - Friendships Form in Strange Ways

On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered the government of Nigeria Israel¹s assistance in locating 276 high-school girls who were abducted four weeks ago by the Boko Haram terrorist network.

The mass abduction by the Islamist terrorist group based in northern Nigeria was widely ignored by the mainstream media in the U.S. for two weeks, but persistent calls for action and awareness by Christians through social media eventually brought the atrocity to the world¹s attention.
Netanyahu¹s offer was expressed to Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan as the Prime Minister was traveling in Japan last Sunday. He said, ³Israel expresses its deep shock at the crime committed against the girls. We are willing to help assist in locating the girls and fighting the terror that is afflicting you.²

Nigeria is one of Israel¹s closest friends in Africa. Previously, Israel delivered medical supplies to Nigeria following a deadly Boko Haram attack against three churches on Christmas Day in 2011.

Of course, Israel has more experience dealing with Islamic extremist terrorist threats than any nation on earth. We¹ll continue to keep you apprised of developments in this area.
