"The Extended Exodus From Egypt"

In the Book of Exodus, we learn about the leaving of Egypt, the land of bondage and hard rigor, by the House of Israel people and others. The mixed multitude. Literal departure. The much more subtle lessons of spiritual disengagement from all things Egyptian began to unfold. The memories and priorities of Egypt needed to be replaced and fade away. With 42 stops along the way, it took 40 years in the wilderness to adjust and learn new values. When did they begin to receive instruction, the rules and regulations for righteous and wise living? From commandments (mitzoh) in the Torah!

The really significant marker in space and time after the literal departure from Egypt was at Mt. Sinai. On the first Pentecost (Shavuot), Israel became the bride/wife of Adonai with the marriage covenant vows known as the 10 Commandments. More commandments were related to these in the full 613 mitzoh. The Mosaic Covenant. The very word Torah relates to instruction.

Until 6-7 to 8 in 2014, we experience the Passover Season, the extended Exodus Season until Pentecost. In our lives now, how do we choose to leave the Egypt in our lives, spiritually speaking? Sodom and Egypt are linked in The Scriptures. They are spiritually false and meant to be left behind.

The first momentous Pentecost (Shavuot) was much about wedding preparation and marriage vows. A Wedding of the Ages. May we resolve to take leave of any spiritually symbolic Egypt in our lives. There is another Wedding of the Ages. The wedding of the Messiah/Christ and His bride is near!
