Marie, I am very sorry to hear about Leo...what a beautiful
dog! Because God is good and according to His
Word (1 Corinthians 2:9), I firmly believe you will
reunite in heaven. May God bless you with His comfort in
your grief! There was a time many years back when the
major health risk for larger dogs was hip
dysplasia. We now hear that cancer is becoming more and
more common.
So why is cancer becoming more common in our pets? Is
it because dog/cat pet-related products are being
manufactured outside of the United States? When you pick
up a toy or buy food, look for place of manufacture. I
recently visited an "office products" chain store to buy a
laptop carrier. I found a really nice one
(manufacturer "F/C" famous for their Day-Timers) and
identified as a 3-Gosset Tote. However, there was an
attached label that said:
Calif Prop 65: "This product contains chemicals known to the
State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects,
or other reproductive harm." I looked further to see place
of manufacture, and sure enough, outside of the
U.S. Here are a couple of websites with
products for your pet made here in America. Blessings!
