Marie, I am very sorry to hear about Leo...what a beautiful dog! Because God is good and according to His Word (1 Corinthians 2:9), I firmly believe you will reunite in heaven. May God bless you with His comfort in your grief! There was a time many years back when the major health risk for larger dogs was hip dysplasia. We now hear that cancer is becoming more and more common.Dog owners: Here is a site that discusses cancer and cancer prevention in animals: http://cancer.landofpuregold.com/prevent.htmSo why is cancer becoming more common in our pets? Is it because dog/cat pet-related products are being manufactured outside of the United States? When you pick up a toy or buy food, look for place of manufacture. I recently visited an "office products" chain store to buy a laptop carrier. I found a really nice one (manufacturer "F/C" famous for their Day-Timers) and identified as a 3-Gosset Tote. However, there was an attached label that said: Calif Prop 65: "This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects, or other reproductive harm." I looked further to see place of manufacture, and sure enough, outside of the U.S. Here are a couple of websites with products for your pet made here in America. Blessings!
