fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a
single person will survive. But it will be shortened
for the sake of God's chosen ones."
Again, it is written,
"And
if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being
would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he
chose, he shortened the days."
Now, on the one hand (no
matter your stance on the Rapture timing), you are
probably right.
On the other hand, the time
allotted for events scheduled to take place before
Jesus comes has been cut short.
Bottom line? The last shmita year was
5768, from the evening of 12 September 2007 to the
evening of 29 September 2008. The next shmita year
is 5775, from the evening of 24 September 2014 to the
evening of 13 September, 2015.
The next year, 5776, is
the Jubilee year.
