As we watch the calendar this year and pay special attention to the remaining Jewish festivals, there are some other interesting things to watch as well.
This year on November 3rd there will be a total eclipse of the sun. This celestial happening will be all the more interesting because Comet Ison will likewise appear in the sky as viewed from various places on the earth.
On November 28th Comet Ison (which will have been visible since October) will reach its closest approach to the sun. By that time it should its most visible, becoming one of the brightest objects in the sky. Also on the day that Ison is its brightest, Hanukkah (evening November 27th) will have begun.
Later on April 15th of 2014 is the date of a blood moon and it occurs on Passover.
So much coming. So much to be watching.
