Re: Mike W and all doves- Christians and
homosexuality
Thanks Mike, it's always nice to get good feedback. That post on
homosexuality had much prayer and reflection as I wrote it.
I've since thought of an analogy.
A person becomes saved and the Holy Spirit therefore resides in
that person.
Let's say the person continues their former sinful life- in this
case their sin has been murder- they're paid as a hit man to
murder people. There's no true repentance there is there? That
person is deceiving themselves if they go on murdering yet claim
to know Jesus.
Now replace 'murderer' with 'homosexual'. Sin is sin.
Saying "Christian homosexual" is akin to saying "murdering
Christian" or "child abuser Christian". Again- sin is sin. With
no sincere repentance and a turning away from the sin; made
eminently possible by His grace, I would have trouble believing
that person is sincere about walking with God. Which do
they love more? Their sin? Or Jesus? The answer should be
obvious and is found in scripture: "if ye love me ye will obey
me". Couldn't really be simpler. He must come first and He will
give the grace needed for the sin to be stopped.
Blessings Mike and to all,
