Re: Robert Belanger-and all doves-
article on gay lifestyle
Dear Robert and all doves,
I truly understand where you're coming from Robert. I have
several gay friends and sadly my Godson has recently revealed
his homosexuality.
I see it this way:
I love them as I would love anyone- we are all sinners.
I treat them as I would treat anyone; with respect, love and
kindness.
However, I cannot condone Christian gay couples who actively
live the homosexual lifestyle and engage in sexual relations for
we are very clearly told this is a gross abomination to God.
If we sin- we repent and true repentance means not returning to
the sin. A contrite pierced heart who cries out for forgiveness
cannot knowingly keep repeating the same sin. That's not true
repentance.
I know a gay couple who attend church and live in the same house
but they abstain from practicing the sin- this is repentance.
After their baptism they moved to separate bedrooms and vowed to
abstain. I believe they have successfully done so. They still
love and care about each other but the "physical expression" of
this love has been removed and whilst in conversation one day
the younger man told me by God's loving grace even the desire
has been removed.
The biggest problem I have with gay people is that they insist
they just want to be treated normally- but then go out of their
way to behave abnormally with events like the gay mardi gras
which openly mocks Jesus. This doesn't apply to Christian gay
people...nor all gay people.
I cannot judge- it's not my role- but one only has to look back
at Sodom and Gomorrah to see what our Lord thinks about this
issue.
It seems to be a different category of sin- not only is it sin
but a gross abomination to a most Holy God.
I think we can only stand in prayer for these people that
they'll be freed from this bondage.
But you cannot keep sinning/reprinting/sinning/repenting- it's
not sincere repentance. How they'll be judged is in His perfect
hands as the case with us all - for all have fallen short.
God bless,
Susan B
